Helpful information for new families
Thanksgiving Holiday
Pick-up and Drop-off information
Just some helpful information regarding pick-up and drop-off of students.
- Please make sure that when waiting in line to drop off your students in the morning, to be mindful of the fact that we have teachers trying to get into the parking lot as well. So please move up in the line if possible so that the teachers trying to get in to park can do so.
- For pick-up in the afternoon, we have both zenith pick-up and club or late pick-up. If parents picking up club students could use the outside carpool lane to pick up, therefore freeing up the inside carpool lane for Zenith parents to pick up that would be great. Our zenith parents are required to come in and sign students out, as well as within a certain time frame. So this would make that process easier instead of waiting in long lines.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and support on this. We want to make it easier for everyone to pick-up, drop-off, and get to work.

Lunch Reminders
Important Reminder Concerning Free and Reduced Meal Applications for School Year 2017-2018!
Parents and Guardians, Please note that applications for Free and Reduced Priced Meal Benefits must be submitted each school year. If you have not done so this year, you may have lost free or reduced eligibility as of October 10th. Please submit one asap and look into your child's balance. Any balance accumulated prior to submitting an application and getting approved for free or reduced meals is expected to be paid.
Each student is provided a lunch account onto which money may be deposited. Deposits may be made online by going to www.schoolcafe.com and creating a parent account under the district Harmony Houston South. Through School Café, you may also set up low balance alerts and automatic payments. Deposits may also be made by money order or credit/debit card at the school office.
If you would like to apply for free or reduced price meals, the lunch application is available online at www.schoolcafe.com. A paper copy of the application is also available at the school office. Note that just a milk costs $0.50, regardless of eligibility.
Food Drive
It's that time of year when we host our annual HSART food drive! Please help us help others in need by donating canned or boxed food items.
The food drive will run from Monday, Nov. 6th - 17th. All canned/boxed goods will be collected by students first period teachers. The class with the most collected canned goods will receive a pizza party!!
We will also be collecting cans at one of our booths during fall festival on Friday, Nov. 10th. Please see the below message from Ms. Bruner for more details!
Happy Fall Fest!
As you come, one and all, to HSART’s Fall Fest next Friday (11/10/17) bring canned or boxed food items for our Cans for Candy drive! The people of Houston need balanced, healthy meals and at a celebration you need candy (or, rumor has it, tiny oranges, as they last). We will have halal, kosher, diabetic, and traditional candies available to chose from when you donate goods to the drive. Don’t forget to spread the word in your classrooms! If you have questions, or would like to donate early, please contact Ms. Bruner (cbruner@harmonytx.org or (706)296-8313).
List of items food banks are in need of:
- Canned green vegetables (green beans, spinach, collard greens), with no salt added
- Canned tomatoes, no salt added
- Canned beans, no salt added
- Canned tuna, salmon, chicken, sardines
- Canned fruits in water or juice

Mark Your Calendars! Harmony Giving Day
At Harmony, we are a family and we want to empower our alumni!
Many of our graduates come from underrepresented communities and seek life-changing opportunities through higher education.
As a result, we’ve created the HARMONY COLLEGE FUND to raise money to provide: scholarships, mentoring, internships and other support services for our alumni to successfully complete their college education.
On Tuesday, November 28th, we will have the first annual Harmony Giving Day. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of our alumni by giving to this effort.
