Interested in Jazz Band Next Year?
Is your student a current 6th or 7th grader who plays one of the following instruments: saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, or percussion? Are they interested in learning different styles of music, such as swing, rock, funk, blues, and Latin? Then they should join Jazz Band!
Our award-winning program is where we learn a lot of fun music together in a laid-back atmosphere, all while serving as the ambassador ensemble of the BMS Band with various performances around the community, including Christmas On the Chisholm Trail, Turtle Festival, and the Temple Jazz Festival.
Click here to have your questions answered and if your student is interested, please click here to fill out the Jazz Band Audition Sign-Up Form. We hope to see them in Jazz Band next year!

EOY Placement Auditions
Current 6th & 7th grade band students will be participating in this individual end-of-year assessment privately with a director to determine which ensemble they will be placed in next school year. Each audition will consist of scales and sightreading, and will take no longer than 5-10 minutes each. This is a major grade and is required of all 6th & 7th grade band students, regardless of their participation in Band next year.
