Computer & Internet Safety Reminders
- There is no expectation of privacy when using an ASD device and all browsing history is traced to the student signed-in to the device. What is done on ASD devices may also become a matter of public record.
- Avoid banking or other secure transactions on the ASD device (banking and shopping are blocked categories through the elementary web filter).
- Avoid checking personal email, social media, or dating sites (blocked by category for elementary and middle school students).
- Avoid non-academic, personal searches of information.

Kindergarten registration remains open
Enrollment opens for all incoming kindergartners on Wednesday, March 4. Children entering kindergarten must be age 5 on or before August 31, 2020, in order to register. More information can be found in our Kindergarten Registration Packet.
Register your student online. Before you register, you’ll need:
Child’s Birth Certificate or Passport
Completed Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS)
If applicable, parenting plan/court order and/or proof of guardianship

March 4 - enrollment opens
Kindergarten Parent info night has been postponed. A new date will be determined.
There will be no Kindergarten Round Up this year. In place of this event, we are working with local preschools to determine how we can prepare to serve your child.
Free hearing and vision screening events in March will be offered by the Anacortes Lion’s Club. The Lion’s Club will host a free, drop-in, hearing and vision screening, for ages 3-5, on Saturday, June 6 from noon to 4 p.m. at Anacortes Soo Bahk Do located at 2117 O Avenue.
Health screenings will be scheduled as needed. Families indicating a need for follow up will be contacted by district staff.

Ready to Learn Fair - Aug 15
Join the Anacortes Schools Foundation and the Anacortes School District at our 20th Annual Anacortes Ready to Learn Fair on Saturday, August 15th 9am-12pm at our new location: Anacortes High School!
Each year, the Ready to Learn Fair provides FREE back-to-school essentials like backpacks, supplies, clothing and more to Anacortes students and families who need a little extra support. To learn more about this FREE event, please visit our website at www.asfkids.org/ready.

For people who don't want to order a full pack of 10, we will be offering Succulents, Geraniums & Petunias for $4 each or 6 / $20 and Herbs, Veggies, & Marigolds for $3.50 each or 6 / $17.50.

Winter CSA Opportunity in Anacortes
Boldly Grown Farm is a certified organic farm in Skagit Valley. Our family farm grows fall & winter vegetables to feed our community during the typical off-season. Our Winter CSA (community supported agriculture) program has expanded to Anacortes this season! We are excited to partner with the Island Hospital Health Resource Center as a drop site.
With our CSA share, you can look forward to:
- 12 bountiful, biweekly veggie boxes from late October through early April
- High-quality, certified organic produce, from staples to specialty items
- Value-added products like kraut, chili powder and more
- Produce storage tips and recipes from your food-loving farmers
- Convenient drop sites in Seattle, Skagit Valley and Bellingham

All fourth graders are eligible to see America’s natural wonders and historic sites for free through the Every Kid Outdoors Program! This program provides fourth graders and their families access to public lands (NATIONAL PARKS, FORESTS, WILDLIFE AREAS, BLM, ETC.) for one year. Passes can be printed and brought with the child on their park visit. Encourage fellow educators, parents and friends with fourth graders to download their Every Kid Outdoors pass today!
