Principal's Message
Can you believe we have already completed two weeks of school? Teachers and students are settling into a routine and strong relationships are being built. Amazing learning is taking place in classrooms! A huge thank you to all our parents who have worked with us as we work out the kinks in arrival and dismissal procedures.
I know this is going to be a great year at Brill! Standards based grading is going beyond kindergarten this year to include first and second grade. Teachers will cover more of this at Open House.
Our accountability ratings from 2018 are in. Once again, Brill shined! Our campus Met Standard in all areas and received 3 out of 5 distinctions for Academic Achievement in Science, Top 25% in Academic Growth, and Top 25% for Closing the Achievement Gap. Please see the image below for more information. Brill students continue to grow and shine in their education and we could not do this without the support of you, our parents. Thank you for your support and encouragement of our students.
As many of you know, Brill holds a special place in my heart. I want nothing more than to see each and every student be challenged and succeed in their education. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or my team if you need assistance in any way. We are here to help!
With Bronco Pride,
Sandra Speer, Principal
Assistant Principal's Message
What a wonderful experience it has been getting to know all of your exceptional, talented and BRILLiant Broncos during the first two weeks of school. I have enjoyed seeing the faces of your wonderful children light up each morning as they enter the building and I cannot wait to watch each and every one of them grow and learn this year.
I would like to take a moment to inform you of the procedures regarding the gifted and talented program. The GT referral window will be open from August 27 - September 21. If you are interested in having your child tested then I would encourage you to check under Advanced Academics on the Klein website for current information and updates. Please note that all 2nd graders will be tested so if your child is in 2nd grade there is no need to fill out the form. I would also encourage you to attend the parent informational meeting on Thursday night at 5:45 for more details regarding gifted and talented.
If you have any questions or concerns please know that I am always here to help so don't hesitate to call or email me.
Keeping it Gleeful,
Amy Gollogly (Mrs. Glee)

Counselor's Message
Welcome back to Brill everyone! We are all excited for another successful school year. It’s been a pleasure visiting with returning families and meeting our new families. Please ensure your children that if they need me for anything, my door is open.
Career Day is Back!
October 31st we will be having career day for our Broncos! I am recruiting anyone that would like to volunteer a half or full day of their time to come to Brill and present. Our presenters will provide information about their profession, their experiences, the educational path needed to achieve their goals, and any other fun information that will excite students to pursue each career. Please email me your name and profession if you are interested. We would love to have as many former Broncos return to share their career experience as possible.
September we will be focusing on Respect as our featured Character Trait. I will meet with each class to provide a lesson involving respect and the importance this trait is in our lives. Please discuss respect with your students throughout the month to ensure that they will be role models for their classmates each and every day.
Have a wonderful month!

Box Tops
Box Tops:
The Brill Library is collecting Box Tops. Each Box Top is worth ten cents which quickly adds up. The Box Tops we collect help us purchase books, makerspace materials, and even helps us host author visits. We appreciate all families who clipped and collected Box Tops over the summer. Please continue to turn them in using our Box Top flyers, available in the front office and library. Mrs. Artman and Mrs. Bennett will do a prize drawing October 26th for those who have donated at least 10 box tops, but we will continue to collect throughout the school year.
