Thailand and Terracotta Soldiers
This week in GT, we continued our East Asian Studies Unit. We took a deeper dive into the history and culture of East Asia. This week, every student was able to create a Terracotta Soldier out of actual terracotta clay. They also had time to complete an activity based on the tradition of the Chinese zodiac system.
We also had a chance to examine the nation of Thailand in detail. One of the class favorites was its unique political history and the role of the military and monarchy in the overall governance of Thailand. (Ask them what happens if you make fun of the royal pets!) We also examined the cultural treasures, historical events and geographic features that make Thailand a one of a kind nation.
It is always a joy teaching your child!
