1st grade Newsletter
Miss Vaughn's Class
Week of October 5-9
Reading- We will be working with a reading partner this week! We will work on skills such as making sure our partner knows what is happening in the story and helping with tricky words!
Math- We we will be wrapping up our addition strategies this week! And getting ready for Unit 3 which is all about Number Stories!
Writing- We are getting our stories ready to publish this week for Student Led Conferences!! We can't wait to share them with our parents!
Science/Social Studies- We are starting a new unit in science focusing on Weather! In Social Studies we are going to begin our study of economics with Needs and Wants.
Leader in ME!- We are anxiously awaiting our Student Led Conferences!!! We have worked on Self-Reflections and owning what we..."rock at!", "okay with" and "need improvement on"!! We can't wait to share all of our learning at our conferences!!!

Trunk or Treat is coming up soon!! Friday October 23rd we will have so many fun things here at Null for you and your child!! MySci Science Van will be here for Science Experiments, Great Clips will be here to decorate hair, and lots of us will be here to hand out candy/treats!!! If you would like to participate and hand out treats or host a game at your vehicle please let me know or Mrs. Rachael Leibner know. Her contact info is: rleibner@stcharlessd.org
We are also looking for a volunteer to paint faces at Trunk or Treat. If you would be this person or know someone who would be great contact Mrs. Rachel Leibner too!!!

October 8- NO SCHOOL- STUDENT LED CONFERENCES from 8:00am-4:45pm
October 23- Title 1: Trunk or Treat 5:30-6:30pm!!!!!
