“The Mask You Live In,” Documentary film from The Representation Project, with introduction by Steve Smith, PhD, Palo Alto University
Thursday, February 26, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Sequoia High School, Carrington Hall
The Sequoia Parent Education Series is proud to offer a premier showing—first on the Peninsula--of the new documentary film, The Mask You Live In. This film was written, directed, and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom of The Representation Project, makers of the award-winning documentary, Miss Representation.
Compared to girls, research shows that boys in the U.S. are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications (for ADD/ADHD), fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime, and/or take their own lives. The Mask You Live In asks the important question: As a society, how are we failing our boys?

An alarming number of young people who have never used conventional cigarettes are now using electronic "vaping" devices and student use of these products now surpasses the use of conventional cigarettes. These devices are easy to hide and are often used with other drugs. Despite widespread perceptions to the contrary, e-cigarettes do not deliver "harmless water vapor.”
Come learn how young people are targeted to experiment with these and other "non-conventional cigarette" nicotine products and why we should all be concerned. Examples of various products will be available to see.
