  • Save the dates: December 18th from 10:00 - 11:00 - UFP Performance
  • December 22, from 1:15 - 2:00 - Puppet Show and Poetry Reading

It's just around the corner....the UFP (unidentified flying planet) Convention. Students will show off their planets and space knowledge from 10:30 - 11:30 am on Friday, December 18th. Please come if you can. I'll send out several photos if you're unable to attend.

From 1:15 - 2:00 on December 22nd, the kids will use their puppets in skits, read their space poems, and sing a few spacey songs during Performing Arts with Mr. Jones.

We hope you can make one or both of these fun events!

Donations for Military Personnel

The photo above shows boxes donated to the "Shop, Ship and Share" program. Thank you third grade students (and parents) for the wonderful donations of coffee, Q-Tips, candy, fruit roll ups, and more we sent off to the military as part of our civics unit. The most precious part were the letters, cards and artwork students submitted. Hopefully we will receive a letter from the three people who receive our donations.

Winter

It appears that winter is here to stay. Make sure your child comes to school with boots, mittens, snow pants, hats, and warm socks. Students at Capitol Hill go outside everyday unless the temperature is below 10 degrees or it's raining.

Feel free to send a second pair of socks for their lockers if you wish. Our new playground has been a hit for the kids. You may have noticed it's filled with sand. :) Hopefully we are dumping that sand out in the garbage at school and not trailing it into your homes.
