  • Dr. Gretzula Visit to OV: Dr. Gretzula will be visiting with us on Thursday, October 20th @ 10:00. Let me know if you are doing something you want to show case... this is your time to shine! He has a genuine interest in our elementary program, so feel free to let me know if you want him to stop in. Thanks ~DLM

  • Can I get a "HOOT-HOOT"!!!: A Great Big "HOOT" goes out to Lisa Gallagher for the fantastic job well done on our first EM4 Math Night. The event was well-attended and parents seemed pleased with the information they received. Also a Great Big "HOOT" goes out to all of the following teachers who gave up their time to help us out with the EM4 Night by running games and answering questions:

  • CONGRATULATIONS!: Let's give another "HOOT" to Gia Ranniello in Cherie Looker's class! Cherie nominated Gia for the September LYFT Character award, and she was honored at last night's School Board Meeting.

  • Sunshine News: Sad news - Debbie's father-in-law, Frank Tomlinson, passed away yesterday. A memorial is planned at Debbie's church on Sat. Nov. 5th. An obituary will be in the paper. You may send condolences to:

  • Nov. In-service: If you have already completed the Act 126 Child Abuse training and have turned in your certificate to both HR and me, you may work on curriculum in the afternoon. If you plan to return to OV to work, please know that OV is an election polling site and priorty is given to voters. Please do NOT block any voters from entering or finding sufficient parking. Please be mindful and do not park in front of the building.

  • SUNSHINE DUES: Last call for all Sunshine Dues.

  • ATTN: There will be no change in the date for the OV-GLM (3-5). It is back to the original date of 10/19.

  • RED RIBBON WEEK October 24th through 28th.

    1. When you move your class to another location (i.e. Courtyard, extra recess, another classroom, etc...) you MUST send the office a note with the new location and time you will be there. You must communicate this NO LATER than the morning of this change. Thanks ~DLM

  • DATA MINING: Just to alleviate some of the stress/confusion - you all already have plenty of data. Items such as running records, DRAs, assignment grades, attendance, etc... are all very good data. Do not stress over WHAT data, let's take a look at HOW we interpret then use the data. Best ~DLM

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: Schedule as follows:
    1. Friday, 11/18 is a full work day w/afternoon conferences
    2. Monday, 11/21 is full work day with evening conferences
    3. Tuesday, 11/22 is the teacher 1/2 day

  • Morning or Afternoon Announcements: If you need to have something announced in the morning, please leave me a physical note in a folder in my mailbox. It will get passed on to Lisa G for the PM announcements. Thanks ~DLM
