The chaparral is a shrubland that is found in most continents. It has a Mediterranean climate. The chaparral covers 5% of California. The chaparral has flat plains, rocky hills, and mountain slopes. Lots of plants and animals live here. But most plants have hard leaves which hold lots of moisture
