Heather Hutyra is entering the North Texas Hall of fame Saturday, April 12. Since her arrival to the team in 2004, she's pushed the program forward with her amazing work as a forward. She has 264 wins with her 19 seasons with the team.
UNT Men's Basketball team wins against A&M
Athletes Alzee Williams and Jordan Williams have made it into the 1000 point club. With their help, North Texas was able to beat the aggies 61-41 at their home court this past New Years Eve. Mean Green was able to make some fantastic progress this season.

McNulty, Means, and Greer will be fighting for the top spot at the upcoming spring game in front of a crowd of 5,325 at Apogee Stadium.
NT Golf Team Wins The Argent Financial Classic For a Second Straight Year
Mean Green passed the Bulldogs in the final round with a score of 292 to win by two strokes. Overall, each player performed beautifully. The Mean Green well return to competing on March 14-16 at The Schenekel Invitational.
No. 67 North Texas Defeats South Alabama
The North Texas tennis team ended it's final dual match of the season in an amazing 4-1 victory. Mean Green will play at Norfolk, Va. for the Conference USA championships, beginning April 16.
UNT's Mascot: Scrappy the Eagle
On Feb 1, 1992, the student body voted on choosing an eagle for the UNT mascot, making UNT's mascot different than all of the other Texas schools. The mascot was later named Scrappy, and traditionally, the wearer of the costume is kept secret.
Neal J. Smatresk
President Smatresk became UNT's 16th president Feb. 3, 2014. He has been teaching at the college level for 35 years, and is very knowledgeable when it comes to providing affordable, yet quality education, while building strong bonds with the community.
