Black Friday. Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday.
Join us on November 29, 2016, as we celebrate Giving Tuesday—a global day of philanthropy dedicated to giving back through the support of nonprofit organizations.
Now in its fifth year, Giving Tuesday celebrates the act of giving back on the Tuesday following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It's a day when communities, charities, businesses, and individuals come together to transform the way we think about and participate in the giving season.
Buckhorn High School is excited to take part in the tradition, and we hope you will consider joining us this year.
On this special day you can celebrate Giving Tuesday by making a gift to Buckhorn High School. All gifts, no matter the size, will open doors of opportunity for all of our students.
Be sure to mark your calendar, spread the word to your friends and family, and follow us on social media for updates leading up to the big day.
Want to be a part of Giving Tuesday? Here are a few ways:
- Mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 29.
- Consider making a gift on Giving Tuesday to Buckhorn High School (You can make a general donation to the school or to a specific department/organization/teacher).
- Consider purchasing an item from our Amazon Wish List ( Link: https://www.amazon.com/…/wishl…/10J69RP7YUKEY/ref=cm_sw_su_w )
- Spread the word on social media using @buckhornhighschool (Facebook/Instagram), @buckhorn_high (Twitter) and #GivingTuesday#BHSDayofGiving .
- Share this information with your friends and Buckhorn alumni.

The annual JROTC sponsored food drive for the Bobbie Odom Food Pantry; New Market United Methodist Church will begin on Thursday, 27 October 2016. Like last year, we will have 2 phases for the food drive. Phase 1 (Thanksgiving) starts Thursday and ends on Wednesday, November 16th. Phase 2 (Christmas) starts on November 28th and ends on December 8th. For each phase, we ask students to turn-in their canned and non-perishable food items to the teacher of their choice. JROTCCadets will collect and count the food items every day or two during that teacher’s planning period. Teachers; please separate the food items by A & B Day & by block/class. The class that donates the most food items will get a free breakfast (courtesy Dr. Chumbley’s Culinary Class) if a 1st block class wins or free Dominos or Papa John’s Pizza and soft drinks if a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th block class wins. Ten Ramen Noodles will count as one food item. Please support this food drive, it helps local families. #BuckPride

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
