Amendment 1

The first amendment states that everyone has the freedom of speech, religion, press, assemble, and petition to government for a redress of grievances

Amendment 2

The Second Amendment says that in order to protect themselves, people have the right to own or bear guns. It makes us feel safe knowing that we can us a gun if we are in a dangerous situation.

They are saying her weapon is not included in this amendment and she is violating

Amendment 3

The third amendment states that no soldier shall be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner


Example:


He was thinking about quartering soldiers and going against this amendment

Amendment 4

The fourth amendment states that in order to keep all privacy, search or seizure may be done unless there is a warrant or a probable cause. It shows that the government can just come into ones house with out a reason.


Example:


After getting a search warrant, police found drugs in this mans home

Amendment 5

The fifth amendment says that everyone has the right to go before a grand jury before being put on trial and may not be tried twice for the same crime. The accused cannot be forced to give evidence against themselves, "the right to remain silent".

Amendment 6

The sixth amendment says that in all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall have the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed

Amendment 7

The seventh amendment says that when the value of controversy exceeds twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be proserved.


Example:


Mans case involves more than $20 dollars giving him the right to a trial

Amendment 8

The eighth amendment states that everyone has the freedom from excessive bail and fines and cruel or unusual punishments.


Example:


This man is saying he was beat by two guards and it violated his right

The Ninth amendment states that citizens have other rights besides those listed in the constitution.

The tenth amendment states that the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, not prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.
