Red Ribbon Week
The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to create an awareness for our children to better understand the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Please see the flyer for how we will be showing our support for Red Ribbon Week, and also some suggestions for age appropriate ideas on how to talk to your child about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Monday: Hear My Message Loud and Clear - It’s Red Ribbon Week Wear a red shirt with your uniform bottoms to help kick off Red Ribbon Week
Tuesday: Band Against Dugs Add a bandana to your school uniform
Wednesday: I’d be CRAZY to do Drugs Wear crazy or mismatched socks with your school uniform.
Thursday: Drugs Are Scary and I’m “Red-y” to Say No to Drugs Change into an orange, black, or festive Halloween shirt and jeans after the parade
Friday: Let’s Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite sports jersey and jeans to sport your drug-free lifestyle
Halloween Celebration
If your family does not celebrate Halloween or you do not want your child in the parade, please let your child's teacher know and we will have a different activity for your child to do during the parade/party.
Please be mindful of others when helping your child select his/her Halloween costume. Out of consideration to our younger and more sensitive students, costumes worn to school should NOT be overly scary and pretend/make believe weapons should NOT be brought to school. Thank you for your cooperation.

K-Kids Helping Families in Need for Thanksgiving
K-Kids are asking for donations of nonperishable Thanksgiving-related foods such as cans of vegetables, boxes of mashed potatoes, boxes of stuffing, etc. Our food drive will run from October 21 through November 15. We are also looking for donations of Publix gift cards. The top two classes with the most donations will earn an extra recess.
All donations will first be used to help our own families at Oasis. If your family is in need of assistance this holiday season, please use this link and complete the form. All information is confidential. Any leftover donations will be sent to the Cape Coral Caring Center.
Thank you for your help! If you have any questions, please e-mail the K-Kids Faculty Sponsor Mr. Zedd at Joshua.Zedd@capecharterschools.org at any time.
Mind Up Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum
This week in MindUP, students will continue to learn about Mindful Smelling (Lesson 6). This lesson focuses on being mindful of familiar smells and memories that are linked to them. Think about Christmas smells, nature smells, home baked cookies, etc. What memories do you think of when you smell those familiar smells?
(To learn more about this curriculum visit Mind Up.)
A Note from Mrs. Gamboa...
The OES Pumpkin Patch looks great! So many students have stopped to admire all of the fun storybook characters represented in our pumpkin patch. Thank you to all of our families who created and shared a pumpkin.

Fortify App
The app, which is available for download on Apple and Android mobile devices, is critical to ensuring all Florida schools are safe environments where students and educators can experience and share the joy of learning without fear. FortifyFL is a suspicious activity reporting tool that allows you to instantly relay information to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials.
The Florida Legislature directed this tool’s development in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act. For more information visit: https://getfortifyfl.com/
