Be sure to come out this Friday for the stage naming ceremony to honor Mr. Todd Kelly. Mr. Kelly started his teaching and musical directing back in the 1980's at PGHS. He has since done numerous shows with his actors moving onto careers in theater and even Broadway. The ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Sound of Music performed by our students.

March Madness Brings College Week to PGHS

For college week, we will be decorating the school with college banners/posters and encouraging all faculty/staff to wear college gear. You may dress down each day if you wear college gear. We will be sending out questions that every teacher is asked to discuss at the start of class. Some of the questions are below and Thursday & Friday's will come out next week.

Montco Monday - MCCC will be here and we are encouraging everyone to highlight MCCC as a good choice for students
Question: What college did you attend and why?

Tuesday: College T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day - I wanted to make it TEMPLE Tuesday but that got voted down :)
Question: What major did you select in college and share why?

Wednesday: College Hat Day - Students may wear any hat but we are encouraging college hat day
Question: What was the greatest obstacle you had to overcome in college and how did you overcome it?

Thursday: College T-Shirt/Sweatshirt Day

Friday: College Basketball Day - Cheer on your favorite March Madness Team

REMINDER - Tech Integration Unit Design is Due April 10th

Tech Integration Unit Design Expectations

Teachers are to take an existing unit of study from a current course (a new unit can be created but is not required) that lends itself to leveraging the new technology and knowledge acquired through professional development and modify an instructional process or student work product used for assessment of learning (it can be a new performance task). The modified unit should be uploaded to Google Drive, per Dr. Ziegler’s instructions, with the modifications highlighted. The unit should be accompanied by a written explanation of how it augments, modifies or redefines the student learning. Teachers should refer to the SAMR model examples for additional details on the website ( Teachers are also encouraged to consult our instructional coaches for support.

This measure for determining the 15 percent (locally defined) portion of the teachers’ overall performance rating is consistent with the expectation set as far back as last April for the first year of the DiLE initiative. It is also consistent with and well supported by the professional development resources in place.

Special Education teachers and/or related services will either be working on best practices with IEP writing, resiliency development, and some work with AEDY changes and the Apex application process
