Mr. Posick's Friday Thoughts
The month of May was Teacher Appreciation Month. We had an opportunity to show our appreciation to our Merton teachers, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week, but I know for a fact that our teachers receive notes and phone calls of appreciation throughout the school year. We know that you trust us with your child each and every day and we make every effort to live up to the trust and faith that you have in us.
"The Choking Game"
This week I met with all 7th and 8th grade students about "The Choking Game". It is far from a game. It is something that children have experimented with for years. It came to my attention that this was being tried by a small minority of our students but even one child attempting this is too much. I sent a letter home to all 7th and 8th grade parents and thought that I would include it in my letter to all families today. Here is a link to the letter. End of the year quickly approaching
As May has come to an end, June has many end of the year activities. Wednesday, June 5th brings the Day Away, a trip to a Brewers' game, for our 8th graders. Friday, June 7th is our annual Celebration Day for all students. Tuesday, June 11th is the end of the year 8th grade only Merton dance. Wednesday, June 12th is the 8th grade graduation ceremony beginning at 7:00 in the gym. Thursday, June 13th is the last day of school with a noon dismissal.
I hope that you all have a great weekend and can enjoy some time with your family. I cannot thank you enough for your continued support of Merton Schools.
