How Does iReady Support Our ELs?
iReady will help you determine your student's needs, personalize their learning, and monitor progress throughout the school year. iReady allows you to meet you student's exactly where they are and it provides data to increase you student's learning gains.
- Generating high-impact, easily accessible data to inform instruction
- Promoting access and engagement
- Motivating students with personal success
- Integrating strategic scaffolds and supporting academic language development
For our English Learners, BOUSD uses iReady performance as our Reclassification criteria for our English Learners in Grades K-3. Please see our Reclassification criteria below:
1. Overall ELPAC score of "4"
2. Teacher Evaluation (Grades)
- Elementary: Progressing or better
- Secondary: "C" or better
3. Parent Consultation
4. Basic Performance Skills
- Grades K-3:iReady
- Grades 4-8 & 12: CAASPP
- Grades 9-10: Site Data
How to Support Your Students and Families with iReady Data
iReady in the Classroom
2. Set goals with students.
3. Provide targeted instruction.
4. Give students time to complete lessons in class.
- 30-50 minutes per week
iReady with Families
2. Share the student's goals.
3. Share resources.
Implement Best Practices
- Plan for identity-affirming experiences and incorporate culturally responsive pedagogy
- Support academic vocabulary development
- Provide visual supports
- Allow multiple opportunities for discussion
