OK2Say Student Presentation: Friday, January 7th
OK2Say Parent Notification and Opt-Out Form
Dear NRMS Families:
Our school will be hosting a presentation on OK2SAY – Michigan’s student safety virtual program for students in grades 6th - 8th on Friday, January 7th during RAM Time. North Rockford Middle School has been featured as an OK2Say School and helped to create the video below titled Pass it On.
The virtual program is designed to inform students how they can help make their school and community safer by reporting dangerous and/or concerning behaviors to a trusted adult or OK2SAY. Students will learn how OK2SAY works, how they can submit a confidential tip, and what will happen with the tip information.
The presentation will discuss many of the issues that impact students in Michigan including bullying, cyberbullying, mental health issues, self-harm, suicide thoughts, sexting, types of abuse, digital footprints, and the predator threat. Throughout the presentation, students are encouraged to stand up for themselves and their peers and to always be mindful of the power of their words.
If you do not want your child to participate in the OK2Say presentation, please complete the Opt-Out Form and return it to our main office by Wednesday, January 5th.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: News from our Interim Superintendent, Korie Wilson-Crawford
TOPICS: COLLECTIVE COMMITMENTS & COVID RESPONSE PLANNING
Hello Rockford Public Schools Community,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as interim superintendent as we continue our district search to replace Dr. Shibler. I am both excited and grateful to continue our work for the second half of the 2021-2022 school year in this leadership role. I look forward to supporting staff and families as we round out the school year.
While I don’t plan on weekly videos, I will occasionally send videos out to our community. Embedded below if a video for you to watch that highlights our district’s collective commitments to every child in our district and also provides an update to our COVID Response planning based on the expiration of the KCHD order on DK-6th grade face coverings.
Watch the 12-28-2021 video here.
All of the staff at RPS looks forward to welcoming your child back to school on January 3, 2022.
Sincerely,
Korie Wilson-Crawford
Interim Superintendent

We understand that it may take more time to drop students off in the back; however, this is required in order for us to keep our bus and parent drop-off loops separated and our students and staff members safe. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
