Greetings Park Terrace Families!
We had a terrific first day of school yesterday! I truly can’t express how grateful I am to all of our staff for their hard work in preparing for the start of the school year. We are all so happy to have students in our school once again.
It is such a joyous moment to see students making a big step from holding a parent’s hand outside the school to bravely entering a classroom. I am honored that we get to be a part of these special moments! The Panther mascot was here greeting students. We had families giving hugs goodbye. We had plenty of photographs being taken. It really was a fun way to kick off the school year! Find some first day photos in the newsletter!
Practice helps us all improve. As we all learn and practice together, our dismissal will get smoother and more efficient. If you are picking up your student from school, here are a few reminders:
- You may either park or go through the drive up line.
- A staff member will get your student’s information and the student will be sent outside to be picked up.
- Please be sure to mind the traffic from the drive-up line and cross only with our crossing guard who will be there to ensure everyone stays safe.
Thank you for your help in making pick up at school a safe and efficient process!
This Saturday, September 10, the Panther Foundation and Community Education are hosting a “Start Your Engines” event in the Spring Lake Park High School parking lot. All are welcome! It will be a great way to kick off the year and build community together. See more info in the newsletter, and I hope your family can come by to see some big truck, food trucks and automobiles. It will no doubt be a lot of fun for kids!
We are off to a great start, and I am looking forward to see what this year has in store for us! I hope everyone has a great remainder of the week!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
