ADMINISTRATION UPDATE
Dear CCS Families,
It is hard to believe that we’re entering the final weekend of the month of September! Fall weather has definitely been creeping in, and our classes have continued to soak up learning and social time with their peers and teachers inside and outside. Here are a few celebrations from various classrooms.
Our youngest learners are getting into early literacy and math routines and learning activities - many of which are play-based! Highlights from the week include
- Our Kindergarteners coloring during Ease In time and sharing their knowledge of various shapes and pattern blocks.
- First graders playing with letters and words as they practice phonics, reading and writing skills.
- Second graders gaining proficiency with Chromebook skills as they prepare for remote learning days.
- Third and fourth graders soaking up team building and developing problem solving skills in Zachtivities!
- Fifth graders recently hiked Pease Mountain and are doing great things while learning to play ukuleles in Music!
- In PE, Omega students are learning and playing 4 team frisbee.
- CCS Library Book Deliveries are going strong! Our students love getting book delivery!
We wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Take Care,
Stephanie, Jen and Cassandra

STUDENTS AND MASK WEARING
CLOSEGAP STUDENT CHECK-IN TOOL
As we continue to “Provide students with frequent check-ins to ensure social-emotional well-being and to identify areas in need of additional support” (per the AOE Guidance for Reopening Schools), we are excited to announce that CCS is planning to implement an application called CloseGap. CloseGap is an online student check-in tool that will allow teachers to teach emotional understanding and awareness. Students will also learn how to identify their own emotions, connect body sensations to those feelings, and learn helpful strategies. CloseGap will also allow teachers to know which students might need some extra support throughout the school day. This is an important step in ensuring the emotional safety of our students as we return to school. Please stay tuned for more information about CloseGap. To learn more about CloseGap, please visit: www.closegap.org
PICTURE DAYS AT CCS!
Picture Days at CCS will be Thursday, October 1st for Group 2 (Th/F students) and Tuesday, October 13th for Group 1 (M/T students). (Note - since kindergarten will be 4 days starting Oct 5th, those students will all go on October 13th.)
CCS will send the picture day class schedule to all families early next week (as it was not ready at the time of this printing) via the Blackboard Connect system.
Beltrami Studios will be returning once again to CCS in order to take student and staff photos. In order to comply with Covid-19 guidelines, they are encouraging families to order their photos on-line. Charlotte Central School on-line ordering is now open and ready to use - the link is:

We do have a limited number of hard copy order forms. If you do not have internet or on-line payment capability, please contact Naomi Strada (nstrada@cvsdvt.org or 425-6600) and she will send an order form home with your child.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Naomi Strada at CCS or Beltrami Studios directly, 863-6223.
