Attention Car Rider Parents!

You must have a hanging tag visible in order to pick up your child in the car rider line. If you are in need of a new tag or additional tags, please contact our front desk at 281-897-4450. If there is no tag visible, our staff will ask you to pull to the side and we will require identification and then verify that whoever is picking up that student has access to them. This will delay your child getting in the car. Thank you in advance for following our procedure and ensuring the safety of all students.

Bite Size Behavior Tips from our Behavior Interventionist, Tracy Klare

5 Things Parents Can Do To Raise Successful Kids

As parents, we all want to see our kids grow up to be successful, well-adjusted adults. However, becoming successful adults doesn't come without some effort as they are growing up. Here 5 simple things parents and/or guardians can do to help their children on their way to becoming a successful member of society.

  1. Express high expectations-Although kids will tell you they don't like to hear parents always telling what, when, and how to do something, they do hear you when you expression your expectations. Make sure you set your expectations clearly and set them high. Help your kids meet your expectations, and when they don't, love on them anyway and keep pushing.
  2. Praise them the right away-Always be specific in your praise...praise the effort, not the ability. For example, don't just say "Good job! You are so smart!" Say..."Good job! I love the effort you put in to figure out the answer!"
  3. Take them outside and get them moving-Research shows that kids who move open up more neural pathways than kids who sit all day. Take your kids outside and get them moving...run, jump, roll, and crawl with them.
  4. Read to them...correctly-Don't just read the book....discuss the book. Questions like-How do you think the character feels right now? What do you think is going to happen on the next page? If you could change one thing about the ending, what would it be?
  5. Make them do chores-Chores teach responsibility, empathy, and teamwork.

Joke of the week:

Q- What kind of meals do math teachers eat?

A- Square Meals!

Math Tip:

Subtraction Quick Draw:

Deal all of the cards out to two players. One player says, "Draw" and both players turn over their top card. The first player to subtract the two numbers showing and say the correct difference wins the cards. The winner is the player who has the most cards.

Reading/ Writing Tip:

Make a character map! Select your favorite book and main character. List the character traits that they show through their dialogue, actions and feelings.
