Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
All cars entering the car arrival or dismissal line should enter from the BULLSEYE LAKE ROAD entrance only. It is important that you only turn right into the drive. Once you have entered the drive, proceed to take your place in one of the double lines that will form down the driveway. This year we will continue the double line to the car loading zone. Your child will be sent to your car once it is safe to do so. Please do not get out of your car to help your child. We want to keep everyone safe at all times! Once your child is in the car you will proceed to Campbell Street where you will exit turning right only onto Campbell Street.
Our carline is very long. We ask that you not block any driveways on the surrounding streets and yield to the traffic on Bullseye Lake Rd. We understand that only turning right into the driveway is an inconvenience for some, however if we don’t adhere to this it causes a dangerous situation on Bullseye Lake Rd. The carline lasts about 15 minutes, so feel free to arrive any time before 3:30pm.
Name cards with your child’s last name that should be displayed on your passenger window or visor anytime you are picking your child up from school in the car dismissal line. Name cards will be available at Meet Your Teacher night on August 10th or the first day of school for those who can't make it. This card will help our staff determine who you are here to pick up so that we can send your child to your car promptly and ensure that our car dismissal line keeps moving.
If you need to change your child’s dismissal plan, please notify your child’s teacher and the school office via a note sent to school that morning with your child, or by emailing your child’s teacher AND Mrs. Martinez (kmartinez@valpo.k12.in.us) in the office before 11:00am. This ensures that your message is being seen since our teachers are busy teaching during the day and don’t always have time to check their emails.
