Binion E-Meeting

November 30th, 2015

December is Here!!

Hopefully, everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving and are ready for the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season. In keeping with the holidays, we've got classroom parties, school sing along and staff acts, choir concerts and our staff Christmas party.

Also in the holiday spirit, students will have an opportunity to shop at the PTA's Holiday Shop. Here, students have an opportunity to buy gifts for siblings, parents, grandparents, etc. in the Science Lab next week. I understand this may be an inconvenience to move the lab experiments to the classrooms for this week. Thank you for your flexibility!

Last but not least, start looking for, or making, your ugly holiday sweater!! We will have our annual contest on Friday before Christmas break!

Shout Outs!

Thank you Mrs. Pratt and cafeteria staff for a lovely Thanksgiving lunch and pies.

Need Parent Volunteers for Holiday Shop!

The holiday shop is an event held inside the school where kids can Christmas shop for their loved ones or themselves, December 7-11th in the SCIENCE LAB. Volunteers are needed to help assist the younger kids to shop, make sure there's no borrowing items, help bag purchased items, keep things running as smooth and efficient as possible. Hours are 8:10-3:30 p.m.. They would need to check in at the office and the office will tell them which room to go to. Volunteers can work as little or as much as they like. Please contact parents and ask them to email Misty Harvey at

Welcome back, everyone! Hope everyone is feeling rested and ready to take on the next few weeks. :-)

  • Just a reminder that your writing composition scores and CBA scores are due in AWARE by the end of the day tomorrow.

Holiday Craziness

  • There's something about the holidays that makes our precious children act a little "off." Something I did when I was in the classroom was use a website called Portable North Pole. You can create a free personalized video in which Santa will say the student's name and even recognize their good behavior. It's super cool... May even work on your own children. Of course, as you know, keep in mind your students who do not celebrate Christmas.

Here is the website:

Jeff's Corner...

WOW! What a break! Sort of... but being worn out by family and friends is truly rewarding. Thanksgiving week is probably my favorite week of the year for that, as well as other reasons...
One of those reasons is... 'tis the season for grinchiness! Look for a grinch coming to a pod near you...! I have already been booked by one grade level for a Grinch that Stole Christmas reading. If your grade level has any interest in this, let me know soon! It takes 20-30 minutes to do the story well.
We have a lot to do before the next break. Let's do it with dedication and a sense of humor!

Getting to Know You... Who wants the JEANS PASS? I will send this out on Monday!! I don't want 2 people to miss out on jeans passes! *************************************************************************Have Have a terrific week! In the meantime, I am still giving thanks...
