Recording Instruction on Canvas
Please note that some of our instructional sessions will be recorded so that students who miss the class session can access the instruction that they missed afterwards. This will not be the case for every class session. Recordings will be made available only to other students in the class via Canvas. While active participation in class is encouraged, students have the option of keeping their cameras and microphones off. Please contact your student's teacher if you would like to know exactly which sessions they are recording or if you have any questions about this topic.

~Message from our music teacher Ms. Allan~
Bridgeport families,
I have been having such a great time seeing your students' creativity already this week in music! A few notes to help us have a great year:
- Here's a short video about how to access music assignments in Canvas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNNmVc5Fp2A
- I am teaching at Metzger and Bridgeport this year, so the students will have music for two weeks with me and then I'll be off to Metzger while they have PE for two weeks. There will be a new module in Canvas each Monday of music weeks and students can work through the module throughout the week as it fits their schedule, with the "must-do" assignment due Thursday. I offer office hours once a week by grade level to help with any questions on Google Meets, but at this time there is no live teaching for specials.
- I would love to hear from parents and guardians about your family and your hopes for music this year - if you have a few minutes, please fill out this survey: https://forms.gle/T9rBFTX4EmTDduLr7
Looking forward to the year!
Ms. Sarah Allan, Music Teacher

mr. karr's counseling corner
Hi Bridgeport families,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to create a space where members of our community could find counseling, food, and other community resources. I hope this website will help us stay connected during this unsettling time. On the website you will find resources for supporting students at home, such as breathing and relaxation tools, ways to support children in identifying their emotions, and strategies for managing difficult behaviors. I will also post read alouds periodically and will be picking stories that seem relevant to the current time and the current needs of our students.
Thank you,
Jordan Karr
Important reminder from our PTO
Directory reminder!
Remember to submit your Opt-Out form by October 1st if you DO NOT want to be included in the Bridgeport Directory! The purpose of the directory is to provide basic contact and class information so you are able to make connections with other families in your student’s school and classroom. Due to COVID-19 we will not have a Back-to-School Night. Due to current circumstances it will be challenging for families within our community to meet each other and share contact information as one might at this event. To facilitate this, the PTO is working on producing a Bridgeport Directory to promote making connections and building community with families in your school and classroom.
You should have received an Opt-Out form in the mail which you must fill out if you do not want your child’s information released. Signed forms, due October 1st, may be returned to the Bridgeport Elementary School office (M-F 7:30-4pm) in person, via USPS, or via email to bridgeportoffice@ttsd.k12.or.us.
The ONLY information we will use in the directory is:
-Child’s Name
-Child’s Grade/Teacher
-Parent's email
-Parent’s name(s)
Physical address/neighborhood will not be shared. The Bridgeport Directory will be used to build and strengthen community connections. We hope you’ll be part of the Bridgeport Directory!
