RUN or WALK for Abused Children!

Runners & Walkers Needed to Help Abused Children!

Race for a Purpose by Joining Team CASA!

Saturday, Oct. 12th, 8am

1101 Russell Street

Baltimore, MD

Today in Maryland, more than 10,000 children are under the protection of the courts as a result of abuse and neglect. Most live in temporary foster homes and institutions, where they wait an average of three years before reaching safe, permanent homes.

CASAs, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, are trained volunteers, appointed by the court to speak up for the best interests of vulnerable children. Last year, nearly 1,000 CASA volunteers served more than 1,300 children in Maryland. But with 10,000 children living in foster care, 9 out of 10 of them have no advocate speaking up for their best interests.

Team CASA is the official charity team for the Maryland CASA Association that will be in the upcoming Under Armour® Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, October 12, 2013. Runners may participate in any of the following races:

  • Marathon
  • Half-Marathon
  • Team Relay
  • 5k
