Distinguished Artist
Baker Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Congratulations to Sophie!
Sophie is the Distinguished Artist for her colorful fall trees. For this project we learned about warm and cool colors and two painting techniques! Students used watercolor paint to make a background with the sky meeting the horizon line. We then used old dictionary paper to make our tree trunks. Finally students painted warm fall leaves at the top of their tree trunks. Sophie was chosen for her landscape painting because of her attention to detail and wonderful painting skills. Way to go Sophie!
