Welcoming new members to Arbor Academy

Principal

My name is Sarahann Prince your new principal at Arbor Academy. I am very excited to be joining your team to continue the great work you have started. I started in education because I wanted to make a difference in children's lives. I also enjoy spending time outside with my husband and three children. My children range from the ages of 13 to 5. We love to be outside in nature whenever we can.

I graduated with my teaching certificate from Aurora University in Illinois. After teaching in Michigan I decided to get my masters of Leadership from Western Michigan University. I have been working as a classroom teacher and interventionist for the past 12 years. I cant wait to meet all the families at Arbor Academy and help your children grow socially, emotionally and academically. Please feel free to contact me at any time. sprince@fbrcs.org

Behavior Code of Conduct

The Academy’s Code of Student Conduct is based on the premise that students require a positive, safe, learning environment that encourages learning without disruption. When a student chooses to disregard the rules of good conduct, they not only reduce their own opportunity to learn, but disrupt the learning process of others. The code of conduct includes the subcategories of social behavior and discipline, inappropriate conduct, after-school detention and unacceptable behavior/disciplinary action.

At the Academy students are expected to:

· be in attendance and punctual each school day

· be in uniform each school day

· demonstrate honesty, courtesy, kindness, and proper respect to all

· demonstrate respect for school property, as well as property of staff members, fellow students and school neighbors

· use language that is deemed acceptable at all times

· obey all classroom and school rules and regulations

· report interference with their ability to participate in and benefit from their educational opportunity

I'm pleased to announce that Sharon VanDyke will be coming back this year to support Arbor as their Behavior Specialist.
