Staff Proclamation

Examples of Living Our Mission
- Develop a Community of Respect and Rapport: I was impressed with the level of professionalism and leadership exhibited by grade level teachers during SIP Day on Friday. Many of you led out your district grade level meetings at a high level. Way to be a #dgsroyals
- Develop a Community of Respect and Rapport: 4th grade took the opportunity from their grade level SIP day activities to coordinate some professional learning at HGES. They are spending the day observing and collaborating with the 4th grade team there as they learn how to more effectively and efficiently implement their curriculum.
- Create a Culture of Readers: 2nd grade is taking the initiative to grow their knowledge of best practices related to guided reading and using data to drive their instruction regarding power anchor standards and areas they have identified as deficit areas.
- Establish and Environment of Numerical Thinkers and Problem Solvers: First grade is working with second grade to observe how they implement math stations and a guided math approach. They are using their lunch time to take their own learning to the next level. Kudos to both grades for being willing to collaborate and improve together!

They will need these in order to get the lunchable and should only get a card at lunch time IF they order it in the morning.
We will be getting a stamp for K-1 students for each classroom teacher. Please stamp the LEFT hand of students in the morning if they order a munchable. This will help the cafeteria ladies as they move through the line.

DGS Staff Resources and Dashboard
I would bookmark/star this so you can access it when you need it. Please note this has items like updated classroom fund balances, the daily transportation list, the master calendar and more.
Safety Review from First Lock Down
- When you leave your classrooms, please shut off the lights and shut the door. Ensuring that the hallways look uniform is a safety precaution. Doors should NOT be left open if there isn't anyone in the classroom.
End of the Day
As a reminder, please continue to walk your students out to the buses. This ensures safety and order. This was a commitment the staff made last year to help with the end of day routine. There are umbrellas located by the doors should there be inclement weather as well.
Please continue to check daily transportation changes. This is VITAL that you do this and ensure your classroom students get to the appropriate spot. HERE
Bist Bytes
The BIST and Second Step timeline for 2019-2020 is HERE. I will also post updates and expectations for each week in the weekly update.

Positive Office Referrals
You are welcome to celebrate the successes of students at any point this year. You can do so by filling out this FORM or by simply sending me an email that details they're specific success or positive behavior. They will get to ring the bell, sign the wall and have a selfie taken to be displayed outside the office. In most cases, I also call home to share the good news with their parents.
Discipline Dashboard
Maintenance Requests
This helps George, Nancy, and Tom Grimm track building and district requests.
You can ask verbally for a request, but also be sure to send the email. It can be as simple as "Please move desk to stage in my classroom" or "Air Conditioning is leaking."
