RCS is hosting the first Summer Institute on August 11 and 12. This is an OPTIONAL staff development opportunity for all RCS employees.
Come learn together, find inspiration, share your passions, and discover new ways of teaching and learning in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

· Collaborating with Google
· Accommodations and Meeting Needs of All Students
· Harnessing the Power of Moodle
· Microsoft Office Workshop
· Incorporating Our Franciscan Spirituality into the Curriculum
· Project Based Learning
· Personalized Learning and Differentiation
· Using Safari Montage
· Reading Strategies for Content Area Teachers
· Using Twitter to Grow Professionally
· Web 2.0 Tools
· 1:1 and BYOD Teaching Strategies
Attendance is optional and open to all staff looking for free, fun, and innovative professional growth opportunities. CEUs will also be provided.
Call for Presenters!
Please consider teaching a course! Whether or not you are an expert, if you have a passion for a topic please consider teaching a session. Courses can be 1.5, 3, or 6 hours in length.
Learning Plans
After attending Summer Institute, teachers will have the chance to create a learning plan that highlights how they have grown in their teaching practice. Top plans will earn monetary rewards and be showcased system-wide!
Scoring
Distinguished Learning Plan
- Up to 5 plans will be recognized as "Distinguished"
- $400 monetary award
- Plan shared on C&I website
Proficient Learning Plan
- Up to 5 plans will be recognized as "Proficient"
- $250 monetary award
Basic Learning Plan
- Up to 10 plans will be recognized as "Basic"
- $100 monetary award
Teachers attending Summer Institute do not need to complete a learning plan-this is also optional.
