The FDIC was created in 1933. This program was headed by Franklin Roosevelt. It was a reform. It was created in response to the thousand of bank failures. It was to help reassure people that banks would work and their money was safe in them. It was very effective in helping get people belief back in banks. The FDIC is still going on today and is still very effective. Even though it helped banks and get people's trust back there are some people who it didn't help, like the general public. The FDIC would not do anything to help the general public. But over all the FDIC was very successful and a great program.
