Our recent community survey provided some excellent feedback for the staff. Last Monday I read out the responses to the staff at our staff meeting. At the end of it, I could sense that they were all very heartened by the strong positive responses in nearly every area of the survey from the overwhelming majority of respondents. It is a great feeling to have such positive feedback and affirmation.
As educators in a catholic school, we strive to provide the best education for our students whilst trying to model the Gospel values of Jesus. Sometimes we get it wrong and need to reflect on what we need to change and move on from there. Schools are living, breathing entities and constantly in a state of flux. If we just sit back and take things for granted soon enough we can stagnate so that we are no longer maintaining such a high standard. We are mindful that we need to continue to listen and take action from feedback and adapt and change if necessary. That way we can keep up the incredibly high standard of education we offer to our students and whanau.
Thank you all so much for all your positive feedback and affirmation. We are very grateful.

Our Catholic Faith Fact - Christ The King
On the last Sunday of each liturgical year, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, or Christ the King. This will be celebrated on Sunday November 20.
Pope Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 with his encyclical Quas primas (“In the first”) to respond to growing secularism and atheism. He recognized that attempting to “thrust Jesus Christ and his holy law” out of public life would result in continuing discord among people and nations. This solemnity reminds us that while governments come and go, Christ reigns as King forever.
Year 8 2023 School Based Vaccination Programme
The School Based Vaccination programme will offer the two dose HPV vaccinations to
protect against genital warts, cervical cancer, throat and mouth cancers, and other types
of cancers later in life. The programme also includes a one dose Boostrix vaccination to
provide protection against Tetanus, Diphtheria and Whooping Cough.
To enable students to receive the vaccinations at school a vaccination pack will be
provided to students who have not completed their vaccinations in General Practice in
term one 2023 to take home for the parent/caregivers to complete and return the
consent form to school. Consent to the school based programme can be withdrawn at
any time during the programme by contacting the vaccinating team directly

Attendance Dues Debt Recovery
Please be advised that at the May 2022 Cathedral Parish Finance Committee, the committee signed off on a new Attendance Dues Debt Recovery Policy. This enables the parish to engage an external debt recovery company (Under Control Collections). This will always be used as a last resort, when we have been unable to get a family to engage with us in relation to their outstanding Attendance Dues.
Any queries should be directed to Kirsten Tester – Attendance Dues Administrator - Ph (03) 595 1053 or ktester@cathedralparish.nz
