Venture Network, an informal weekly pitch slam, is an invaluable resource for early stage entrepreneurs. Venture Network is a forum in which you can engage with the entrepreneurial community, promote your startup, and have the opportunity to pitch before a panel of investors & entrepreneurs. Venture Network is unique in that it is a very informal gathering where startups can meet investors in a casual setting over beers and snacks and focus on what’s important: building relationships. Venture Network is a great way to perfect your pitch, get feedback on your product, and meet the local startup community.

The two startups that will present their project in 7 minutes will be:

Justo de Rufino, Motordisc

Motordisc is an R&D&I project of electric hybridization of vehicles with traditional explosion engine based on a regenerative brake system with "flat" type electric motors that allows (i) the use of braking for the generation of electricity (thanks to the use of "inverter" electric motors ), and (ii) the electric traction of the vehicle thanks to said electric motors when required.

The regenerative braking system/electric traction provides a clearly innovative component that consists of placing said electric motors in the brake calipers of each wheel. Thanks to this innovation, this system is much less complex from the technical and installation point of view, than other similar projects that are being carried out, since it can be adapted to each car model easily and at a limited cost. The system is called Motordisc Electric Transmission and has granted the Spanish patent ES2597203 and is in the final phase of approval of the patent for Europe, United States and China (reference international patent WO 2017/009512 A1).

It is a project with clear ecological and social components, allowing to open the world of electric hybridization to segments of the population with less access to new hybrid/electric vehicles. The main strategy is based on the development of a kit (which would include the electric motors located in the brake calipers, battery and electronic control unit) that would allow transforming a traditional vehicle into a hybrid with the consequent ecological benefits. It would potentially allow obtaining the "0" class by "Spanish Dirección General de Tráfico" which grants access to BUS-VAO and restricted centers of large cities, free access to regulated parking areas, etc ...).
