Whole Child Health Webinars for September 2022 - Mental Health is for Everyone
As a part of the Whole Child Health Initiative, Fort Bend ISD is excited to present our first parent webinar of the 2022-23 school year: " Mental Health is for Everyone". The parent webinar will be held on Wednesday, September 21st at 6 p.m. During this session, FBISD's mental health counselors will educate families on the District’s campus-based services targeted to normalize and identify emotional challenges across cultures. Whole Child Health, focuses on Whole Child Health, is aligned with FBISD's Profile of a Graduate, and is committed to supporting and developing the mental, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical health of all students in FBISD.
Regular Board Meeting – Student Highlights
Beginning, September 2022, the District will begin to showcase student talent during each Regular Board meeting. Fort Bend ISD students are some of the most creative, motivated, and academically gifted young people in the entire state. District board meetings provide an excellent opportunity for our community to see the skills, knowledge, and abilities our teachers and parents have taught and developed in our students.
The student highlight may be done by an individual student or small group of students. We ask that the small groups be limited to six students or less. Types of highlights could be, but are not limited to, spoken word or other forms of poetry, a portion of a play, a musical performance (vocal or instrumental), a science demonstration, program highlight – CTE course, subject course, etc. The highlight should last about 90 seconds maximum and will take place in the Board Room located at the Administration Building during the Superintendent’s Update during the Regular Board Meeting.
Student showcase submissions should be emailed to Deanna.Duran@fortbendisd.com. We are currently looking for our first highlight which will take place on September 19, 2022.
Attendance information
Cornerstone Elementary recognizes the value and importance of school attendance and encourages regular attendance to help our students be successful through the school year. Please email the attendance office within five days of the student’s recorded absence explaining the reason for the absence or the absence will be marked as unexcused. You may send an email to AttendanceCSE@Fortbendisd.com. For any attendance questions please contact Debbie Lobo - 2816346404.
Arrival Reminders
Our arrival line is longest between 7:45-8:10am. We invite families to take advantage of a shorter line by delivering their student to school between 7:30 and 7:45am.
Lunch Visitors
At this time, we are able to have 4-6 students at each lunch have one or two guests join them for lunch.
Since space is limited, we ask that parents share the opportunity to visit as we will not be able to host every parent, every day. We strongly encourage parents to sign up only one time per week if space allows.
Safety and Security is our number one priority. For this reason, just as we did last year, we will ask guests to use a sign up genius to sign up in advance. CSE asks that families sign up no more than one time a week to allow all interested families the opportunity to join their student for lunch.
Sign Up Genius for Lunch Visitors
Please remember to bring a photo id with you to campus as this is required to be signed in to campus as a visitor.
CSE Reminders for First Time Lunch Guests
- Guests will only be allowed to join a student for lunch, if they are an approved emergency contact in Skyward Family Access.
- Guest must have a photo ID in order to be allowed onto campus.
- Lunch Time is a Cell Phone Free Time
- Visitors may only bring food for their child.
- Please exit the cafeteria at our 5 minute Remaining mark to help our grade levels transition to recess.
