PBL Focus
Our PBL focus this fortnight has been Wear Your Uniform Correctly. We are so proud of the many students who are making the effort to wear the correct uniform each day. Again, I wanted to remind our families that black tights worn on their own are not a part of our school uniform and should not be worn. We understand that uniforms can be expensive, especially for families who have more than one child. Please contact the office if you are having trouble paying for uniforms as we have student assistance which may be able to help.
Learning
Mrs Lloyd, Mrs Beavis and myself have been visiting classrooms and talking to students about their learning. It is wonderful to see students talking about their learning and their learning goals and we love to celebrate their achievements with them.
Grow Your Mind
On Monday this week was our Grow Your Mind Launch. This amazing program provides a common language and shared understanding across the school and teaches our children brain awareness, resilience, mindfulness and compassion. Everyone had a wonderful day and I am so thankful to our amazing teachers for organising this wonderful day for our children.
Early Leavers and Late arrivals
Many students are arriving late to school and are often being collected before school finishes. This causes disruption to the learning for both your child and others. Regular school attendance is essential to assist students to maximise their potential. Attendance is monitored every day and the Home School Liaison Officer works closely with the school to ensure children are attending school on a regular basis. Parents and carers are reminded that students should be at school every day during school hours which are 9am - 3pm unless they are unwell or have a medical appointment. Please try to organise medical appointments outside of school hours so as not to disrupt your child's learning.
Have a wonderful week and don't forget to ask your child what they are learning at school.

In week 4 we attended our first ever swimming carnival and had the best day ever. We completed rotations that taught us about first aid, bike safety, water safety and more!
We were so tired by the end of the day but we really enjoyed the bus rides.

Voluntary School Contribution 2021
What is a Voluntary School Contribution?
This is a voluntary payment from parents that is requested each year by schools to supplement existing funding. Our school relies on these contributions to provide additional resources to ensure our students have the best possible learning opportunities and learning environment.
How Much?
The voluntary contribution for 2021 is $30 per family.
Payments can be made at the office by cash or through EFTPOS or through POP (Parent Online Payments - this accessed through the schools website).
All money raised from these contributions will go directly towards the purchase of school resources and related technology to enhance the teaching and learning across our school.
Swimming Carnival
What a great day! Last Thursday we had our annual Swimming Carnival. Despite the weather, our students enjoyed the day, participating in a range of safety activities developing their skills in being safe in the water. Students also completed activities in basic first aid, healthy eating and sun and bike safety. Once again, we had lots of smiling faces, even during the rain. Prestons Pride was on display at the pool.
Well done to everyone.
