COVID-19 Weekly Website Update
Tuesday 5 April 2022
Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you are all safe and well. As we approach the holidays, I would like to provide a final COVID-19 update for the term.
The current cases across year groups are Pre-Kindy, Kindy, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5.
TERM 2 - What to expect
Mask wearing is here to stay for a little longer for children in years 3-6 and visitors to our school.
While we will be operating in the Very High Caseload Level 1 Guidelines, there is some easing of restrictions. This will be welcomed by our community.
- Year-level assemblies and some larger events can take place adhering to physical distancing requirements and mask-wearing protocols.
- Parents and carers can come onsite for assemblies, performances, and sporting events
- Parents and carers are able to come onsite for parent/teacher meetings and interviews.
- All children are encouraged to attend school if they are well and not a household close contact.
Educational Continuity
- Children requiring remote learning - those who are in quarantine as household close contacts and those in isolation because they are COVID-19 positive.
- Schools are not required to provide work for children who are being kept home by a parent when there is no COVID-19 positive case, or the child is not a close contact.
SELF-REPORTING OF RESULTS OVER THE HOLIDAYS
Step 1: REPORTING TO WA HEALTH via the LINK
Step 2: REPORTING TO MMPS
Please continue to use the self-reporting portal to record COVID-19 results via this Link for all positive student cases and household close contacts including during the school holidays.
VACCINATION INFORMATION
Over 50 percent of all children aged 5 to 11 have now received a first dose, with many now due for a second dose (eight weeks after the first). In particular, as we approach the school holidays and the weather cools down, it is important to take steps to minimise the impact of COVID-19. Vaccines are a safe and effective way to protect your child and the community. The Department of Health website provides a number of resources with further information about seeking COVID-19 vaccination. Resources are available at: www.health.gov.au/initiatives-andprograms/covid-19-vaccines/who-can-get-vaccinated/children
Vaccines are widely available across the country at general practices, pharmacies, state-run clinics and Aboriginal Health Services. You can find a participating clinic and make an appointment by visiting the Vaccine Clinic Finder at: https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/booking
I would like to again thank our entire community for the support, care and help provided in keeping the school safe for students and staff. If you need support, advice or assistance, please be in touch.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter and joyful holiday.
Warm regards
Emma Bell
Principal
