Wednesday, 12/12/18 Boys Basketball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade 3:30-4:30pm in DATA Gym
Friday, 12/14/18 Cheers for Children end.
Turn in any non-perishable food items to DATA. If you’d like to receive a Mile Pass, turn in 10 items to Ms. K.
YEARBOOKS ARE AVAILABLE ONLINE!
After December 31, prices for yearbooks will go up. Please be sure to buy your yearbook, or make a deposit to get this low price of $ 35. Keep in mind that you can choose to customize your yearbook with your name or icons. You can also include additional autograph pages, protective covers and even your 8th grade baby announcement!
BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS:
6th Grade - We are waiting to hear from the league if we will be given a spot for a team. When and if this occurs we will announce tryouts and practice schedules. If a sixth grade team does form we will need parent volunteers to work along side the coach.

Cheers for Children Food Drive
Our school has been assigned the specific food items listed below with a target of serving 350 families:
Dried Desserts:
- For example: Cake mix, Jell-O, muffin mix, pudding, sugar etc.
Items are being collected from November 26-December 14, 2018. Please turn in your items into Ms. K in the Physical Education Department or the office.
Students who turn in 10 items can receive a mile pass from Ms.K.
If you would like to help sort and deliver baskets see information below
There is a tremendous amount of work that goes on “behind the scenes” to make this event a reality. If you are able to help with sorting, boxing or delivering, there is no need to call. Please bring your friends and family. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing you there! Please note the important dates below which are held in Balboa Middle School Cafeteria.
SORTING & BOXING: Friday, December 21 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
DELIVER FOOD BASKETS: Saturday, December 22 at 8:00 a.m.
Please Note: Students can earn community service hours for helping out during these dates but as above states they must be accompanied by an adult.
El Camino High School Presentation for 8th graders
There will be a presentation by El Camino High School on December 12th at DATA. If your 8th grade student is interested in attending please direct them to sign up in the office.
If your student is unable to attend there are various parent information night dates available.
Parent Information Night dates:
January 8, 15, 29; February 5 & 26; March 12 & 26; April 9 & 30; May 14 & 21; June 11. All sessions are from 4-5:30pm at El Camino: 61 Day Road (on the Ventura College Campus).

Please bring a copy of student’s most recent report card or transcript and standardized test scores with you to the meeting. Please be on time as it is meeting that is filled with important information.
***Parking in the Ventura College lot is by permit or $2 day pass only. Day passes can be purchased at the yellow parking kiosk in the lot. Parking on Day Road is free.
All donors will be provided a tax write off letter for the 2018 year.
