Prep for March 4th PD day

All of our conversations in the last month around data have been very purposeful because they are leading up to the March 4 professional development day, which will be focused on how we use data to make instructional decisions. To prepare for this day, please make sure you are fluent with getting into different types of MAP reports on the NWEA website. Also - please print your Fall quadrant report and your Winter quadrant report (1st through 5th) and bring those along to our PD morning.

One more thing about March 4

Every district employee is present for the Trauma Sensitive Schools presentation on March 4 from 12:15-2:30 p.m. in the HS PAC. Paras have additional training on March 4 either before or after this session.

Please note that the next time every employee needs to be present will be on May 13.

Conferences

If you have students with absence or tardy issues, please bring it up in conferences. If families have questions, please direct them to me after the conference. Here is the easy summary to use: "Students are allowed 10 excused absences per school year. Anything excused with a letter written by a medical provider does not count against those 10. School starts at 8:30 every morning."

Also - the ESL update on Thursday reminded us about the availability of the language line. I have used this service many times this year, and families truly appreciate it. You can use a desk phone or your cell phone using the speaker.
