Fall Road Tripping
The weather is cooling down (hypothetically in Texas), the leaves are starting to change, and you can spot many migrating flocks flying south in the skies. What better way to celebrate autumn than a road trip? If you need a few suggestions, take our advice (combined with the advice of Travel + Leisure, LonelyPlanet, and Travel Channel)...
-ANYWHERE through the Appalachians. From south in the Shenandoah Valley with the Blue Ridge Parkway or Great Smoky Mountain National Park to Kent Housatonic Meadows State Park in Sharon, Connecticut, The Berkshires, The Catskills, and all throughout Vermont. Watching the leaves change along our oldest mountain chain is seriously magical. Side note: Kent has repeatedly been voted the most beautiful spot in New England for foliage change.
-Many cities are much more affordable at this time of year post peak-travel season. Being easy on the pocket coupled with a myriad of festivals (chili harvesting, Oktoberfests galore, state fairs, etc.) and weather make fall a glorious time for visiting many U.S. towns. Some include: Santa Fe, Aspen, Salt Lake City, Savannah, San Antonio, Portland, Providence, Anchorage, Chicago and Boston to name a few.
-Our AWESOME TEXAS PARKS. Texas, our Texas, is also amazing in the fall. We don't have to drive 1000 miles to find the beauty of this season! Some of our favorite parks to visit as the weather cools are: Palo Duro Canyon, Davis Mountains State Park, Los Maples State Natural Area (pictured above), and Caprock Canyons.

Pests looking for rest... In your RV.
Storage Bay
Hard to see, but the "rust"-looking areas are actually thousands of fire ants
Interior Ceiling
They made their way intside the RV via the walls and vents
A Box Colony
This box was filled with countless ants where they had chosen to nest
Simple tips to keep tiny unwelcome guests from invading your home
Above are a few pictures of fire ant invasion of an RV on our lot. We just want to remind everybody to place bait blocs for ants and other pests behind the cabinet drawers and remove ALL boxed food and water bottles from the RV. If the RV will be going into storage for the winter it should be drained of all water and the holding tanks need to be emptied as well. Easy peasy!
Please send us some love... We need it.
If you have had a positive experience with Blue Moon and a few minutes on your hands, please write us a review on any outlet like FB, Yelp, or even Google. We have had a few unhappy customers give their opinions, which they are completely entitled to! But we also know there are many happy customers who love our service. So, if you feel so inclined to say a few words about your experiences with Blue Moon RV, we would very much appreciate it. Small businesses especially need the positive reports of they're customers to promote business. Negative reports are good, in the sense that they allow business to see areas of needed improvement, but negative reports are much more likely to occur than positive ones. People are just more vocal about complaints. We encourage you all to return any great service with a great review. Thank you Blue Mooners.
