What is the Student Leadership Challenge?
Commit yourself to becoming a better leader by earning Leadership Diamond Points. Serving as Temples signature leadership development program for all students, the Student Leadership Challenge certificate program provides dynamic and comprehensive programs that give students access to a rich variety of interactive leadership development opportunities. Students may earn their way to a certificate AND then apply to become a Diamond Leader by participating in the programs offered throughout the year. Below is a listing of upcoming events hosted by the Office of Leadership Development. For a complete event listing, visit the department calendar All events are free unless otherwise noted.

Write Your Leadership Philosophy Workshop
As you learn and grow in your leadership development, it’s important to note your actions, thoughts and behaviors in relation to your leadership style. During this workshop, participants will learn four easy steps to writing your leadership philosophy. We will work to identify each participant’s values, uncover assumptions and understand the individual beliefs around leadership. Participants in the session will focus on writing a brief (one-half page) statement by the end of the hour.
This event is worth Five Leadership Diamond Points.

All participants that meet and/or exceed 50 points during the Fall and Spring semesters earn a certificate in April. You will be awarded your certificate at the Student Activities and Leadership Awards Banquet in May. Points are accumulated from the beginning other Fall semester and conclude with final events in April. Points do not carry over each year with the exception of the leadership conferences and seminars.
Students who are interested in a deeper, more committed leadership program can apply to become a Diamond Leader. The department reviews applications after final submissions are made at the end of March for students who meet all of the program requirements. Diamond Leaders are notified in mid-April of their acceptance to the program.
