Ag Science
Spring is happening all over the place in the Ag Department
The Ag Science class received their Trout In the Classroom eggs beginning of February. They have hatched. We witnessed the Alevin stage (sacs still attached to the fish bellies) and we are now starting to see some of our "babies" develop into the Fry stage with actual fin development and stripes!!!
Small Animal Classes
The Small Animal classes began the semester with rabbit care and reproduction and we just had our "Easter Bunnies" born this past week.
Large Animal Classes
The Large Animal classes are learning about Farm to Table and Swine production and welcomed their 2 little piggies in mid-February.
Horticulture Class
March 1 means planting! The Horticulture class is preparing for spring and summer gardening! Our cold beds were planted this week with broccoli, carrots, beets, and spinach and covered. Our indoor raised beds are being planted with spinach, kale, lettuce, radishes, onions, beets, and carrots. And the Class started tomato plants and marigolds to be transplanted in 2-3 weeks...

Friday Shout-outs!
- Katie White for being such a kind soul and always working as hard as she can. She took time out of her schedule to come and seek help when she didn't have to. She makes others feel valued and is a positive role model for others.
- Mrs. Pecher would like to say thanks to her Spanish Heritage classes periods 1 & 6 for their excellent behavior. It has been wonderful teaching them. Gracias a mis clases de hispanohablantes periodos 1 & 6 por su conducta. Les agradezco mucho su comportamiento.
- Mr. Strine's class - you guys rock!
- Isabelle Allen, Jacob Mead, Dana Newberry, and Jayden Slonaker. These students presented to the YAIAA Committee at York Catholic High School along with students from Bermudian and Susquehannock. The students from all 3 schools worked together to come up with a proposal to help recruit sports officials. All students had a part in the presentation and did an excellent job working with other students and presenting ideas that can begin now and in the future. Well done Isabelle, Jacob, Dana, and Jayden!
- Unified PE Mentors - The mentors have worked hard to learn strategies to support their peers. They have been positive and uplifting to their peers. This group is a wonderful example of what equity and inclusion are all about and I am so grateful they chose to take this course!
- Caroline Hurda has been a wonderful helper and friend in Theater Ensemble at rehearsals. She has been empathetic towards others going through difficult times and goes out of her way to check in on them.
- Ms. Starner for making the most delicious birthday treats!
- Lexi Hartman
- Ms. Sefcheck, Mrs. Harman, and Mrs. Ott; Shout out for helping the Art Exploration students.
- Conner McNew and David Luft for going above and beyond the requirements to write a detailed, creative, and funny script for their Criminal Justice film in Civics! Your enthusiasm was contagious to all your classmates and certainly made me smile!
- Robert Salazar was a big help in the front hallway for a teacher with her hands full this week! Thanks for the assistance, Rob! It was much appreciated!
- Evelyn Garcia for going above and beyond with her lesson plans for preschool! She also volunteered to do multiple lessons in a month, which is a lot of extra work! She is awesome!!
- A HUGE shoutout to Mr. James Leibundgut, UASD Maintenance Foreman, and Joshua Bentz, plumber and all-around handyman, for the beautiful work hanging the bulletin board outside the high school office. Your work is greatly appreciated!
