King's Highway Weekly Newsletter
Volume 3 Edition 13, 12/4/2023
A Note from Dr. Miles
Good morning Parents and Guardians!
I am optimistic it WILL be a fantastic week at King's Highway despite the disappointing loss of our Eagles. We move on to the next...Dallas Cowboys, again!
Anyway, as we embark on another exciting week at King's Highway, I want to take a moment to share the joy and anticipation that fills our hallways. This week is not just another page on the calendar; it's a vibrant tapestry of engaged learning, festive preparations for the holiday season, and a heartwarming focus on learning and the love we all share for our wonderful students.
In our classrooms, the air is buzzing with the energy of engaged learning and the nervous anticipation of the spelling bee. Our most dedicated teachers have crafted lessons that are incredibly fun and interactive. Watch as your children come home with stories of new discoveries and achievements!
Amidst the academic endeavors, the spirit of the season is palpable. Many of you are in the midst of holiday shopping, finding those perfect gifts that will light up your children's faces. Remember, the joy is not just in the giving but in the love and thought behind every gift. Please allow your child to participate in Holiday Shoppe next week and they too can experience the thoughts that go into gifts for YOU!
As we move through this week, let's embrace the joy, the challenges, and the holiday spirit that's ahead of us. Let's remember that each day is an opportunity to inspire and be inspired, to learn and to love.
Wishing you all a week as wonderful as our students!
CHROMEBOOK COMPUTERS: With the winter months soon upon us, I want to make sure that all students have access to the Chromebooks to take home in case of a snow day or Flexible Instructional Day (FID). Teachers will have their Canvas pages updated with zoom links to continue school day during inclement weather days.
***If your child has STILL not been able to bring their computers home due funding for the insurance of $40, you can still see if you qualify for a waiver by click on the WAIVER link and type all requested information and click submit. If it shows a $0.00 balance, then you qualify for the waiver. If not, click the link above to pay the TIF fee. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact the office.
The Scholastic book fair is this week so we look forward once again to see the happiness and joy on the faces of our students as they purchase books of high interest and that ignite them to want to read. We appreciate all your support for your child in this endeavor.
Kind regards,
Dr. Miles
KHS Spelling Bee 2023
We are excited to share that on Wednesday, December 6th our third, fourth, and fifth grade students who have qualified as representatives for their respective grades will be participating in the school level spelling bee. The winners of this level will represent King's Highway at the school level. We will be cheering our students on to do their very best! Special thanks to Mrs. Chanudet for the organization of this event and securing our judges who are former teachers of King's Highway.
Winter Chorus Concert
Join us for a magical evening of music and merriment at our annual Winter Chorus Concert! Our talented elementary school students have been practicing their hearts out and can't wait to share their joyful songs with you. It's a perfect way to celebrate the winter season and see the amazing things our kids are accomplishing. We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this special moment with our school community!
