Student Placement 2021-2022
Dear Titus Families,
Over the next month or two, we will begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. Even though we will not be able to put out class placements until August due to the uncertainty of what next school year will look like, it is important that we begin the placement process. In putting together the classes, we will take into consideration many factors: girl/boy ratio, academic ability, behavioral characteristics, talents, personalities, emotional needs and learning styles. Our goal is to ensure that each child is in a class that has an appropriate balance of students with the proper teacher. We assess each child's individual needs based upon input from the present classroom teacher, student support counselor, reading specialist, and principal.
Class placement is made after reviewing a considerable amount of data. If you feel that we would benefit from additional information, please complete this online form which can be found by clicking here. Consider describing a classroom environment that would be beneficial to your son/daughter. In addition, share any information regarding academic, social or emotional information that you would like us to consider. You should not name a specific teacher. District staffing is not complete until June and teaching assignments may change. Please use this opportunity to speak to your child's strengths and needs. Please note: requests for specific teachers will not be considered.
We want what is best for your child and that involves them having a wide variety of educational experiences. You are not required to complete the form; however I welcome your input. The online form will close on Friday, May 14th, 2021.
Thank you for beginning this important process with us.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bridget M Pustay
Titus Elementary Principal

HOME & SCHOOL NEWS
Board Members Needed for the 2021-2022 School Year
The Home & School Association Board has open positions for the 2021-2022 school year. Board officers meet monthly year-round and are responsible for managing the business and affairs of the Home & School Association. If you are interested in learning more about either of these roles, please contact Angela McGettigan at president@titushsa.com.
Secretary - The secretary shall keep all records of the organization, take and record minutes, prepare the agenda, handle correspondence, and send notices of meetings to the membership. Approximate time commitment is 3 to 5 hours a month including meetings.
Treasurer-in-Training – The treasurer-in-training will work with the current treasurer to “learn the ropes” and take over the role as treasurer for the 2022-2023 school year when the current treasurer rotates off of the board. The treasurer shall receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the executive board. He or she will present a financial statement at every meeting and at other times of the year when requested by the executive board, and make a full report at the end of the year. Approximate time commitment is 4 to 6 hours a month including meetings.
Box Tops
The winner of our 2nd trimester Box Tops for Education contest was Mrs. Silvers’ 2nd grade class! They were awarded extra recess time with Mrs. Pustay last week.
Please continue to scan your grocery receipts into the Box Tops for Education app and send any unexpired, “clipped” Box Tops into school with your child. They should be put in a plastic bag labeled with your child’s teacher’s name and brought to the office. Every little bit helps!
