WE ARE BATTLEFIELD
BES Mission Statement: Our mission is working together to promote high levels of learning for all students.
BES Vision Statement: Building Exceptional Students
From the Principal:
As the weather changes, please make sure you are signed up for the system text alert. This is how the county and school communicates with you about school closings or early dismissals. Also, if you have any changes to your adult pick-up list, please make sure you come into the school to make those changes. We don’t allow anyone to pick up students that are not on this form. We can’t make any changes to your list over the phone. This is a procedure we follow that helps keep our students safe.
We welcome our new BES staff. I do want to take a minute and introduce them to you. Ms. Kaylee McSpadden is a new third grade teacher. Ms. McSpadden is starting her first year teaching. She served as a paraprofessional last year at Woodstation Elementary. Mrs. Caysee Willingham Griffin, Mrs. Allison Franks, and Mr. Anthony Reyna are our new fourth grade teachers. Mrs. Griffin is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and starting her first year teaching. Mrs. Franks came to BES from North Whitfield Middle School. She has served as a teacher, gifted teacher, and school counselor. Mr. Reyna has joined us from Rockbridge Elementary School. Mr. Reyna also student taught with us and we are thrilled to welcome him back. Our new music teacher is Mrs. Marcy Wilson. Mrs. Wilson taught music in several Hamilton County Schools. Our new paraprofessionals are Ms. Emily Satterfield and Ms. Sherrie Austria.
As the weather gets cooler, I know there is a tendency for students to want to stay in the warm car as long as possible each morning during drop-off. We make sure our front drop-off area is supervised from 7:00 until 8:00 each morning. If students will exit their cars before getting to the very front spot, it will keep our morning car line running quicker and smoother. We know you have places to go, so we want you to be able to get in and out as quickly as possible. Please make sure your child has all their belongings ready before leaving home so they exit the car quickly and safely when arriving at school.
For our third-grade parents and new parents to BES, I want to take a minute and introduce myself. I've met many of you at open house, parent orientation and just being in the building. I am a proud product of Catoosa County Schools. I attended Cloud Springs Elementary, Lakeview Jr. High, and graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School. This is my twelfth year at BES. I was the assistant principal for six years, and I’m in my sixth year as principal. Before coming to BES, I taught seventh-grade math at Ringgold Middle for five years and seventh-grade math at Lakeview Middle for nine years. My wife, Carla, is the math academic coach at Ringgold Elementary. My son, Cole, attends Dalton State, and my daughter Kailey attends Heritage High School.
As I said earlier, we've had a great start to the year. We have the BESt students in Catoosa County.
We Are Battlefield.
