Using Poplar as an energy source
By David Bieger
Advantages of biofuel
Poplar can grow very quickly without much fertilizer. This makes it easier to mass produce as a biofuel. Also, crops would not be threatened by planting poplar.
Disadvantages of Poplar as a Biofuel
The process of making poplar into a biofuel is extremely complex. Scientists are still working on the details of converting poplar to a biofuel. Also, poplar has little genetic diversity which makes it hard to genetically produce the perfect tree for a biofuel.

Biofuels are much more environmentally friendly than fossil fuels. Also, they are renewable resources. Mass producing biofuels could solve help save the planet by reducing fossil fuels.
