Be kinder than is necessary

Greetings,

Thank you to everyone for helping with our Valentine's party and lunch, cakes for the cake walk, and all the great Valentines and treats. What a fun day we had. We are now ready to enter Lent.

As you can see from the calendar above, students have plenty to study. Please help them plan their studying time. Sometimes tests fall on the same day and if studying is left to the last minute it can be quite stressful.

During lent we will continue our study of Sacraments. We will also begin writing and rehearsing our shadow Stations of the Cross for our Good Friday presentation. Be sure to save the date: March 30 @ 11:00 AM. This promises to be a very moving prayer experience.

Today we made our Lenten sacrifices and promises. Ask your students how they are going to grow in holiness during these 40 days of Lent. On Ash Wednesday, a lovely gentleman was moved by our fifth graders presence at mass. He wanted to donate his money to us. What a sweet gesture. The class decided to put it in our class rice bowl. I don't have to prompt them to "Give generously from their hearts. . ." What a holy, joyful group this is!

Speaking of holy. . .ask your child about the field trip we took on Tuesday at the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Blessings,

Mrs. Getchman
