Marshmallow Challenge
The students who turned in their Book-It (20/20) calendars for the month of September got to do an engineering project with their classmates! It's called the Marshmallow Challenge. The Marshmallow Challenge is a fun and instructive design exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but has lessons in collaboration, innovation and creativity. The task is simple: in eighteen minutes, teams must build the tallest free-standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. The marshmallow needs to be on top.
The creations our fourth graders came up with were truly amazing!
