Staff of the Week = Washington Post Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Maida is going to represent Seneca Ridge as our division nominee for Teacher of the Year. Since arriving 5 years ago, Ms. Maida has been all-in and all-Seneca. She has taught all 3 grade levels in our math department and continues to change the game everywhere she goes. She is a leader in our school as our Math lead teacher, has substituted as a dean, is our lead new teacher mentor, was the administrator for Bolt Blast Summer Camp, and is currently leading our Virginia All-In Tutoring Program. In addition to taking on so many challenges, she remains positive and poised with her students in the classroom. Students and parents wrote wonderful notes about their experience in Ms. Maida's math class and we are proud to present her as our Teacher of the Year Nominee!
Speaking of Staff of the Week...
Our teacher of the year award got me thinking. I know that is a dangerous move for me :) LCPS now has a way for you to highlight Seneca staff at the division level. Did you have an experience with a Seneca employee who went above and beyond in a situation? Is someone doing something unique or creative that is leading to results? Have you been inspired by a heartwarming story involving a staff member? Whatever your reason, we want you to share your story with us so we can show what makes LCPS a great place to work and learn!
Each month, one submission will be chosen by Loudoun Education Foundation for additional recognition and a wonderful prize valued at $500!
