Inspire is pleased to announce that we will be honoring our 2021 Inspire graduates with a Drive-In Graduation at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds on Tuesday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Families can attend in their own vehicles and enjoy a celebration of our Seniors' accomplishments with a virtual ceremony on the big screen. Students will have the opportunity to receive their diplomas in person, with a walk across the stage. We are also planning opportunities for families to take photos of their seniors with diplomas.

Reg2Go
If you haven't already done so please complete the Reg2Go orientation. For those that have already completed the orientation you are ready to move on to the final step in the Reg2Go process which is scheduling your counseling and Registration session. The quicker you get your appointment the faster you can begin the process of getting your courses for Next year. Below is the link to the Reg2GO page. FAFSA: Federal Student Aid
Want your first year at Butte College to be free?
Want to see if you qualify for free money to attend college?
If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then you need to start getting ready to fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
The FAFSA application opens on October 1st and you only have until March 2nd, 2021 to apply.
The first thing you need to do is create an FSA ID. You will need one and your parent/guardian will need one. Check out the resources below.
Steps to College 2021: The Greatest University Fair in Northern California
American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) is a nationwide non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide direct input into the deliberations and developments of energy policies, regulations, emerging technologies, and environmental issues. We also offer scholarships to graduating high school students who plan to attend a university.
SCHOLARSHIPS: For 2020, AABE California Chapter is offering (4) $500 scholarship to high school seniors who meet the criteria. There are additional opportunities for the selected high school students to earn (1) $3,000 scholarship at the Western Region level and (1) $5,000 scholarship at National level.
Applications Due March 7th

Inspire Foundation Scholarship
- Application Deadline: Friday, April 16th, 2021
In addition, the Foundation awards $1000 to the student chosen by the faculty as exhibiting the Essence of Inspire (no application necessary).
North Valley Community Foundation Scholarships
Please note: All applications are due before April 15, 2020 at 5 p.m.
Bridging the Gap for Breast Cancer Scholarship Program
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for an award the applicant must:
- be a graduating high school senior residing in Butte, Glenn & Tehama Counties
- have a parent or sibling who died from breast cancer or have a parent or sibling who is currently being treated for breast cancer or is a survivor (no other relatives qualify you)
- be attending an accredited college, university, or trade school next fall.
Must Provide:
- Essay: Please attach an essay of no more than 250 words, stating “How did breast cancer in your family influences you to be the person you are today?”
- One letter of recommendation from anyone other than a relative
- The email address of your school guidance counselor to provide official high school transcripts

Butte County Sustainable Communities Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a high school senior graduating from a public school in Butte County
- Applicant must have a GPA of 3.5 or better
- Applicant must be accepted to and plan to attend a University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), or California community college
- Applicant must have an area of study related to city and regional planning, urban studies, social studies, sustainable transportation planning, housing, public health, climate change, environmental studies, or a related field of study
Must Provide
- Two letters of reference
- Personal Statement: The essay must be typed, double –spaced and signed/dated by the applicant. Write an essay outlining your education or career goals (400-500 words in length)
Scholarship Rules and Information
- Awardees must be enrolled full-time (12 units or more) in an accredited college or university. The scholarship must be used during the year immediately following the awarding of the scholarship.
- The scholarship committee will make awards based on eligibility, the essay, letters of recommendation, extra-curricular activities, and volunteer or work experience
- Two $500 scholarships will be awarded annually
Cindy Kennedy Memorial Scholarship: Deadline April 15
Scholarship Rules and Information
This $1,000 scholarship is offered in memory of Cynthia Ann Kennedy, mother of 2011 Chico High School graduate, Levi Stanton. This scholarship is financed by those who loved and supported Cindy and by those who continue to love and support her family. From mundane tasks to major endeavors, Cindy approached her life with a high spirit and a dogged determination. From a young age, she used a goal-oriented approach to realize her many dreams. These were, among other things, traveling in over 30 countries, graduating summa cum laude from California State University, Chico with a degree in Multi-Cultural and Gender Studies, founding Namaste House Children’s Home in Pokhara, Nepal and providing the support her son, Levi, needed in order to obtain a full scholarship from Princeton University. In addition, Cindy was a devoted friend to many and was always available to lend a word of advice, a sympathetic ear or a hand in support.
It is the aim of this scholarship to support the type of spirit and determination that Cindy believed is required for young people to realize their dreams and is available to graduating, college-bound seniors at Chico High School, Pleasant Valley High School, Fairview High School and Inspire School of Arts & Sciences. Awards will be announced during each school's Scholarship & Awards ceremony.
The Lydia Schulerud Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for an award from the Lydia Schulerud Scholarship Endowment Fund the applicant must be:
• A graduating senior
• Achieve a grade point average of B (3.0) or higher
• Pursuing an animal/veterinary field of study
The scholarship shall be based on 50% need, 25% desire to pursue animal/vet related fields of study, and 25% scholastic achievement.
Must Provide
• Essay: Please attach an essay of no more than 250 words stating why you are entering the animal/veterinary-related fields of study; what you plan on doing with your degree once it is obtained; and why you should be selected for this scholarship.
• High school transcripts
Scholarship Rules and Information
The awarding of this scholarship is at the sole discretion of the North Valley Community Foundation. Students must be accepted and enrolled as full-time students (12 units or more) in an accredited college or university. The scholarship must be used during the college year immediately following the awarding of the scholarship.
Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter 582
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for an award from the Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter 582 Fund, the applicant must meet the following criteria.
• A graduate of Pleasant Valley High School, Chico High School, or Paradise High School
• Be enrolled in an accredited college or university
• The applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is a veteran

• Essay: Please attach an essay of no more than 250 words stating what a college education will mean to you and what you plan on doing with your degree once it is obtained. Why is this scholarship necessary for you to reach your goal?
• Your high school transcripts
