MARY-ANGELA'S MESSAGE
Kia ora e te whānau
Thank you to the many grandparents, friends and whānau who joined us for Mass and a visit to the school this morning. What a special time together. It was lovely to be able to spend time with you.
Local Curriculum
Over the past couple of years, we have been reviewing our school curriculum. Our local curriculum is the way that we bring The New Zealand Curriculum to life at our school.
I would like to share the front-facing version of the curriculum, which has the main key ideas included in it - for your review. There is a much more comprehensive document that sits behind, to guide the practice of the teachers.
Here is a copy of the draft booklet about our curriculum for you to read and consider. There is at least one section still to be included.
Do you believe it represents you and your family? Does it represent our community? Is there anything you would like to know more about in the final curriculum document?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Uniform Requirements
As we move into a holiday break, this is a good time for you to do a stock-take of your child’s uniform. Sarah included a reminder in the newsletter last week. While we are in a transition phase, it is still completely possible for all children to wear correct items of uniform.
We are having problems in particular with:
- Jewellery being worn to school - rings, bracelets, sparkly necklaces, etc. These are NOT part of our uniform, so please make sure your child leaves these items at home.
- Sports Hoodies being worn when the child is not doing PE. These Hoodies are ONLY for sports use. We have a polar fleece option for colder days.
- Shoes - We have uniform requirements for our shoes. Please make sure that your child has the correct shoes next term. If they do not have the correct shoes, they are to send a note to their teacher.
Please see the follow link for a list of uniform requirements:

We ask for your support with this. Thank you.
Take care, kind regards and God bless

GRANDPARENTS DAY
Thank you to all those who came to our Grandparents mass today - especially those who travelled for it! It was fantastic to see the grandparents, and I know the grandchildren loved having them there.
Well done to all the ākonga, especially those who took part in the mass - it was our first whole school mass in a while which made it really special.

Principal's Cup
This cup is awarded weekly to a St Francis de Sales student who demonstrates exemplary service to our kura and our community.
A huge congratulations to the wonderful Tony M who is this week's recipient of our ‘Principal ‘s Cup’!
Tony was spotted showing great kindness and responsibility last week, his thoughtfulness was noticed last Monday when while waiting for his fellow road patrollers he lay out all signs so they were ready and waiting. Tony is always so polite when dealing with all members of staff and is a great friend to his peers. Well done Tony.
