STEM-ology 101
Nurturing STEM Skills in Young Learners
Details about the course:
This STEM class is intended to help lay the foundation for what Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics entails. Participants will be prepared to help make the mind shift, define STEM, discuss habits of mind, differentiate between in-depth investigations vs. themes, look closer at STEM in the classroom environment, organize and display materials, hone in on safety, and dive into levels of questioning to enhance STEM activities.
As the content deepens, participants will be introduced to design challenges and what that looks like before, during, and after investigations. The focus will look at observing and assessing students, opportunities to involve families, and finding and discovering resources available for participants.
